PROFESSIONAL PROFILE
The Certified Golf Teaching Professional (level III) training course trains you to:

independently planning and organizing golf activities, including competitions and schedules.

supervise training and teaching methods in a structured manner

coaching at competitions

administering skills tests

managing sports management
This training is also the basis for the official KSS-3 qualification from NOC*NSF.

- No previous level II Assistant Golf Teaching Professional training required
The various parts of the training
Step 1: Intake
In a personal introduction we talk about everything related to golf. In particular golf in the Netherlands.
Step 2: Weekly training
During these 5 days, all theories and practical applications of golf are discussed. We observe and analyze your swing. We study the laws of ball flight. We will further specifically discuss the necessary skills for successfully teaching lessons. A selection of the topics here are: Teaching positions, Mirror images, Learning to teach & drills. Furthermore, extensive attention is paid to your own methodology, didactics and communication skills.
Step 3: Teaching modules
In 5 separate lesson modules, specific topics are discussed that contribute to a successful golf teacher career. Empathy/coaching (1 day) - MOT/implicit learning (1 day) - Marketing & Communication of a WGTF Golf Teacher (1 day) - Clubfitting (1 day) - Biomechanics (1 day).

Step 4: Internship (Duration: approximately 82 hours)
To experience the different learning methods you will follow an internship program with different WGTF golf instructors. This period is planned in consultation with the WGTF. The internship program consists of 2 different elements; Internship with a club pro (50 hours) and Internship at 2 golf HCP weekends (2 times 16 hours)
Step 5: WGTF Exam
The exam includes a theoretical part, giving a 50-minute example lesson and a debriefing where you have to defend a vision on golf. Furthermore, you have played 2 mandatory PAT (Playing Ability Test) matches to achieve the required handicap of a maximum of 166 strokes over 2 rounds of 18 holes. After successfully completing all this, the student receives the Certified Golf Teaching Professionals certificate.

Cost
€4200,- Including 5 days of training, 5 training lesson modules and the WGTF clothing package (2 x polo and 1 x sweater), excluding travel/accommodation, food/drink costs, €250,- exam costs and WGTF of the Netherlands license/membership fee €295,-
NB. Under the motto train the WGTF golf teacher, we have an extensive WYOG (Work Your Own Game by Phil Allen) program and workshops for our members in addition to the training. All this aimed at increasing and/or improving your own golf skills as well as giving group lessons, clinics, events and youth lessons. Both programs are an individual, optional addition to the training program and are therefore not mandatory components.
